An autopsy was done back in April 2009 on the deceased. According to police reports, the cause of his death is a single gunshot wound to the chest. I am his next of kin. Is it at all reasonable that I still have not received the autopsy report?

Also, is there a legal limit to the amount of time someone can take with an autopsy before reporting it to the next of kin? Cerebral artery: Moderate atherosclerosis. Foreign material with foreign body giant cell reaction in adventitia.

Brain & Meninges: Congestion with mild patchy subarachnoid extravasation of blood.

I should add, my fiance was previously diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, had a clip wrap on it. This was not the cause of death, I am trying to work out what the autopsy report means?
